Opponents watch the needle on the dial as it picks up every sound, hovering between green, amber and… red! Dip into the danger zone by making too much racket and the alarm will sound. Complete the task in extreme silence and you win the card. First to five cards is the no-noise champion. So, if you think you can open a bag of crisps and munch away in silence, try it. Can you jump off a chair, tear a piece of paper, fill a jar with pasta shapes, or whisper a song loudly enough so others can recognise a tune – all without setting off the Decibel Detector? You can? Then you’re ready for the nerve-jangling ‘Don’t make a sound’ party game.
